Hoodimate Privacy Policy

In short: the developer of Hoodimate collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Everything the app keeps stays on your Mac.
What stays on your Mac
- Your pet's state, your profile (pet name, birthday, and your area: city, ZIP code, state and country), chats, alarms, settings and the AI keys you enter.
- These live in the app's own sandbox folder on your Mac. Deleting the app deletes them.
When something leaves your Mac — only because you turned it on
- AI chat (cloud): if you connect a cloud AI with your own key, Hoodimate asks you first. After you agree, what you type, recent chat and the profile details above go directly from your Mac to the provider you chose (for example Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Z.ai GLM, Moonshot Kimi or MiniMax). That provider handles it under its own privacy policy. If the AI uses your calendar or a web search to answer, those results are part of the chat it receives.
- AI chat (local): with the no-key trial option, which uses Apple's on-device model, or a local model (LM Studio, Ollama), nothing leaves your Mac.
- Voice input: uses macOS speech recognition. Apple may process the audio under Apple's privacy policy.
- Read-aloud with ElevenLabs: if you enter your own ElevenLabs key, the pet's reply text is sent to ElevenLabs to make the voice. The built-in Mac voice stays on your Mac.
- Web search: if you enter your own Brave Search key, your search words and your country code are sent to Brave.
- Calendar: with your permission, Hoodimate reads upcoming events from your Mac's calendar and adds events only when you ask.
- Notes and sync: notes and sync files are written only to folders you pick (for example an Obsidian vault or iCloud Drive). That storage service's own policy applies.
Other Hoodies apps on the same Mac
If Hoodibot is also installed, the two apps share your pets' position and mood through a shared folder on your Mac so they can meet and play. This never leaves your Mac.
Children
Hoodimate is rated 16+ on the App Store because it can chat with AI services you connect. It is not directed to children.
Your choices
You can turn off cloud AI, voice and sync at any time in Settings, revoke microphone and calendar access in System Settings › Privacy & Security, and remove everything by deleting the app.

- 웹 검색: 자기 Brave 검색 키를 넣으면 검색어와 나라 코드가 Brave로 가요.
- 일정: 허락하면 맥 캘린더의 다가오는 일정을 읽고, 부탁할 때만 일정을 추가해요.
- 노트·동기화: 사용자가 고른 폴더(옵시디언 보관함, iCloud Drive 등)에만 저장해요. 그 저장 서비스의 정책이 적용돼요.
같은 맥의 다른 후디즈 앱
후디봇도 설치되어 있으면, 두 펫이 만나 놀 수 있도록 맥 안의 공유 폴더로 펫의 위치와 기분을 주고받아요. 맥 밖으로는 나가지 않아요.
어린이
사용자가 연결한 AI와 자유롭게 대화할 수 있어서 앱스토어 등급은 16+예요. 어린이를 대상으로 하지 않아요.
선택권
설정에서 클라우드 AI·음성·동기화를 언제든 끌 수 있고, 시스템 설정 › 개인정보 보호 및 보안에서 마이크·캘린더 권한을 거둘 수 있어요. 앱을 지우면 모든 자료가 지워져요.
